Open Letter from Mark Storrey: North State shelters and rescue organizations, We are coming up on our second North State Super Adoption Event in conjunction with the Love Your Pet Expo. Last year we had a few groups and quite a few animals attend and we were able to find forever homes for a few animals, which is great. Together we can make this event a must attend for the community and one that will see many animals find forever homes in a short amount of time. This year’s event will take place on Saturday April 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be located at the Shasta District Fairgrounds in Anderson. We will be located inside Arena A which will keep us and our animals out of the elements. The building has a high roof on it and no side walls so it will be open with plenty of air flow. This will be a good area for us and we will be able to spread out and put the meet and greet pens in the middle. I have provided adoption policies and procedures that we developed specifically for this event. These policies and procedures were based on the Best Friend Society’s informational handouts and seminars regarding super adoption events. There is no fee for any of the 501 (c) 3 rescues or shelters that choose to attend. We need to have an attendance commitment and an estimate on number of animals you are bringing no later than Friday April 1, 2016. We learned quite a bit from last year’s event and hope to continue to grow this event. We cannot do this without your participation and we are hoping this will be a great opportunity for many of the homeless animals in our area to find forever homes.
