Colby's StoryHi, my name is Colby. I was at Pet Co for an adoption day with Raining Cats n Dogs when Katie Ball found me. She scooped me into her arms and cried. I had no idea why. She didn’t have the money for my adoption fees so she made a trade with Raining Cats n Dogs. She would get me in exchange for a booth at her up and coming Love Your Pet Expo. The deal was done. At my well-kitty check she was told that they could remove my eyes when I was neutered. She was given medication to get the swelling down and in a couple of weeks I was doing better, so I could keep my eyes. My best friend is Marley, everyone says it is great that we where both born blind and are so attracted to each other. I don’t understand. What does blind mean? I am happy and love to play. They say I am a little over weight but I say “leave me alone I am happy”.
Four years later I have become a big loving boy and like to stroll in the garden in the mornings, but I am only allowed 15 minutes. I have become a little shy around strangers because they freak me out. My eyes started to give me headaches so we had them removed with the help of Cottonwood vet and a grant from UAN, now Red Rover. WOW do I feel better. I have a lot of friends because I love to play and my cat family, they say I have a great sense of humor. I am good looking, easy to get along with, life of the party, and a all around great guy . It is a tough job but someone has to be modest.
Here are Marley and Colby making friends. Both were blind from birth. Marley and BFFColby sharing breakfast.
